Additionally, all memberships except junior memberships provide free parking at most National Trust car parks. Your National Trust membership card not only gives you access to places in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, but it also allows you to visit places cared for by the National Trust for Scotland and various organizations worldwide. Through the International National Trusts Organisation (INTO), members can enjoy free visiting arrangements with 14 similar heritage organizations in countries like Scotland, Italy, the Bahamas, and Canada.
Once you purchase your membership, you will receive a confirmation email containing temporary membership card(s). Use these temporary cards to start visiting National Trust places as a member right away. Your permanent membership card and welcome pack will be posted to you and should arrive within 28 days of joining.
National Trust allows you to include all children you have parental responsibility for or who are living with you on a family membership. This includes foster children, children placed with you for adoption, and grandchildren. You can add more than 10 children or grandchildren to your membership by joining online with details of 10 children and calling to add the details of the additional children.
Life members enjoy special benefits, including the ability to bring a guest for free at pay-to-enter places if their membership card specifies “+ guest” after their name. However, life members cannot bring guests to the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is exclusive for members only.
National Trust offers gift memberships that can be purchased for friends and family. Gift memberships can be paid for using annual Direct Debit or credit/debit card. You can choose to have the membership welcome pack and cards delivered to either yourself or the recipient, with a letter explaining that the membership is a gift from you. Gift memberships can be set to start immediately or up to two months in the future, with the welcome pack arriving within 28 days.
If you lose your National Trust membership card, there’s no need to worry. Simply call the National Trust and request a new card. They will assist you in issuing a replacement card with your membership details.
